Three common causes for tight hips are:

1) Lifting heavy weights

Too much heavy lifting can also contribute to tight hip muscles. Some people don't run into this issue because their hips don't need to carry the weight, but others may experience pain or discomfort.

2) Inactivity

For a lot of people, the hips can feel tight if they're not active enough. When you're inactive, your muscles don't move around and stretch like they should, causing them to tighten up.

3) Pregnancy

During pregnancy the increased levels of estrogen can contribute to a lack of muscle tone and tightness in the hips. After childbirth, the pelvic muscles will be more relaxed, but the hips may still feel tight. This is why it is important to continue with exercise after childbirth

We offer physiotherapy services that can help you recover faster from hip pain. We use a combination of manual therapy and exercises to help you get rid of your pain and improve your range of motion.
